Some examples of ransomware are the "FBI Moneypak" or "FBI virus" (they are named this way because they use the FBI's logos) and CryptoWall / Cryptolocker.

What really happens when you DELETE a file on your computer

 

When you delete a file, it isn’t really erased – it continues existing on your hard drive, even after you empty it from the Recycle Bin. This allows you (and other people) to recover files you’ve deleted.

If you’re not careful, this will also allow other people to recover your confidential files, even if you think you’ve deleted them. This is a particularly important concern when you’re disposing of a computer or hard drive.

iPhone 5 Sleep/Wake Button Replacement Program

 

Apple has determined that the sleep/wake button mechanism on a small percentage of iPhone 5 models may stop working or work intermittently.  iPhone 5 models manufactured through March 2013 may be affected by this issue.

Apple will replace the sleep/wake button mechanism, free of charge, on iPhone 5 models that exhibit this issue and have a qualifying serial number.

Video Codecs, What are they?

 

Have you ever asked yourself why sometimes aren't you able to watch some video files on your computer? this may be due to the lack of a video codec on your computer.
 

What is a Video Codec?


A codec is software that is used to compress or decompress a digital media file, such as a song or video. Windows Media Player and other programs use codecs to play and create digital media files.

A codec can consist of two components: an encoder and a decoder. The encoder performs the compression (encoding) function and the decoder performs the decompression (decoding) function. Some codecs include both of these components and some codecs only include one of them.
